This cemetery is in the Wise Community on VZC Rd. 2701. It is
in a pasture and is enclosed in a fence that is badly in need
of repair.
Owen Anderson of the area told the following story to Shirley
and Buck Odon in 1985 when they surveyed it. He said that all
the persons buried there are his relatives. The story relates
that there was once a huge cedar tree growing there and a very
small girl enjoyed playing under it. When the little girl died,
her parents buried her under the great tree. The old tree was
well over 100 years old when it was blown down during a storm
in the early 1980s. There now stands a younger tree in
the center of this cemetery.
All of the tombstones are homemade except for the CSA marker
and there were no unmarked graves found by Shirley and Buck Odom
February 17, 1985 when they surveyed it.
