Honored at a “Pioneer Party” at the [Austin Avenue Methodist] church this week, six women charter members of Austin Avenue Methodist Church were crowned with wreaths of orchids and two men with crowns of gold. The party was given by Mrs. J. R. Milam as the occasion marked Mr. Milam’s birthday anniversary.  However,  this fact was not known until the party was almost over.  Pictured above are the honored guests, left to right,  first row:  Mrs. J.
