Sun., Nov. 15 (7-4): Watt Caufield Sr., 63, died yesterday at the residence of his brother, H. J. Caufield, at the ranch near McGregor. Never married. Lived fifty years with H. J. To California in 1848. Funeral today, Rev. J. L. Bowl­ing. Burial at Harris Creek cemetery.

Fri., Nov. 20 (2-5): Nine-month-old child of Mahaley Webster on South 3rd died today of scalding.

Fri., Nov. 20 (8-3): Elgie Wiggins, 17, a negro girl who was burned Thursday, died today. Granddaughter of the late Jake Wiggins.

Sat., Nov. 21 (2-4): Mrs. Dr. Gustav Jack died yesterday at 628 North 13th. Burial tomorrow from the residence, at Hebrew Rest cemetery. Left two chil­dren, husband, and brothers and sister.

Sat., Nov. 21 (2-4): Mrs. Lula Elgin, 27, died yesterday. Leaves husband and two small children. Funeral tomorrow. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Sat., Nov. 21 (5-4): Mrs. Almira G. Wallace, widow of J. D. Wallace, died today at the residence, 729 South 3rd. In Waco since 1857. Funeral Sunday from the residence, Rev. M. S. Hotchkiss officiating. Burial at Odd Fellows cemetery.

Tue., Nov. 24 (8-3): Mrs. C. L. Smith, mother of W. D. Smith of Waco, died at San Antonio yesterday. Funeral today.

Wed., Nov. 25 (2-6): Dr. A. I. Cammack died today at his residence in East Waco. He was wounded at Gettysburg. Age 65. Born in Mississippi. Married Miss Frances Harrison in Louisiana 42 years ago. In 2nd Louisiana regiment. To Waco 29 years ago. Wife and six children survive, including H.M. Cammack, City Recorder. Funeral from residence, 507 Dallas St., East Waco, tomorrow. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Wed., Nov. 25 (5-3): Mrs. Toby Novich, 85, suffered burns and died later, yes­terday. Roomed at residence of Max Harris, 307 North 3rd. Funeral today.

Wed., Dec. 2 (5-3): Miss Lillian Daniel, 21, died yesterday at the residence of her cousin, Prof. E. E. Cammack, eight miles west of Waco. Funeral at the residence today. Burial at Bosqueville.

Thu., Dec. 3 (5-3): Charles D. Sparks died yesterday in an accident at 4th & Franklin. Funeral pending. Son of Hawk Sparks, pioneer settler. Brother of Ed Sparks and of Mrs. Steinbeck.

Sat., Dec. 5 (5-1): A negro child burned to death today, age 2 1/2, near 8th & Jackson. Named Marion Jackson, a boy.

Sat., Dec. 5 (5-2): A child of Matt Johnson, negro of North 8th, died from injury from a fire.

Sat., Dec. 5 (5-2): Mrs. Isabella Henry, 77, died yesterday at her residence, 320 North 4th. In Waco many years. Left four children: L. S. Henry, James Henry, Mrs. S. A. Garland, and Mrs. A. H. Ming. Funeral from Church of the Assumption.

Sun., Dec. 13 (7-1): Col. R. B. Parrott died yesterday at Hot Springs, Ark., of paralysis. A native of Virginia, 1848. University of Virginia at age 14. In the war, joined the Col. Mosby regiment. To Texas in 1872 and settled in Waco. Insurance business. Remains shipped to Waco. Funeral Monday. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Fri., Dec. 18 (2-2): Jim Lewis, a Waco negro, died at Lorena today.

Mon., Dec. 21 (5-3): Bailey Slayden died yesterday from a runaway on Saturday. Son of Col. S. W. Slayden. Age 25. Born at St, Louis. Funeral today, Episcopal church. Ship remains to Champaign.

Mon., Dec. 21 (803): Mrs. Mary Ann Curtis Stephenson, wife of J. C. Stephenson, died yesterday at residence on South 4th. Leaves husband and three children: Edwin Napier Stephenson, Mrs. Judge Walker, and William Wyatt Stephenson. Born Jan. 20, 1835, in LaGrange, Alabama. Married J. C. Stephenson Oct. 3, 1855, near Leighton, Ala. To Waco January, 1870. Funeral Wednesday from the residence at 802 South 4th. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Thu., Dec. 24 (2-4): Charles R. Maupin, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Maupin, died today. Funeral today; burial at Greenwood cemetery.

Thu., Dec. 24 (4-6): J. W. Henshaw, of 3rd & Jones, died today. Born Greene Co., Tenn., June 8, 1839. Capt. in C.S.A. Married to Mattie C. McGaughey and to Texas in 1866. To Waco in 1872. Sat., Jan 2 (8-6): Tyler: Mrs. Elizabeth P. Bonner, widow of the late Judge M. H. Bonner, died Jan. 1. Daughter of Dr. Job Taylor. Leaves two sons: Chas. T. and Capt. John Tom; daughters: Mrs Anna McLendon, Mrs. Bettie Smith, Mrs. Sunshine Pope. Born Mississippi, Oct. 12, 1831.

Thu., Jan. 7 (5-5): Mrs. W. E. Taylor of Earl Row, East Waco, died yesterday. The remains were sent to Axtell for burial. Two babies also died. Funeral at Axtell.

Sat., Jan. 9 (8-3): A negro woman named Bammer, of Mart, was killed by Will Deikle several days ago.

Wed., Jan. 13 (8-6): Sam Newlon died Monday. A blacksmith. Funeral today. Burial at First Street cemetery.

Fri., Jan. 15 (2-6): Harry Quarles, 31, died at Shreveport, La. James H. Quarles of Fort Worth asked Fall & Puckett to make arrangements. Well known in Waco.

Fri., Jan. 15 (6-4): J. H. Rainey died Thursday last in Waco. Born Hinds Co., Miss., Apr. 13, 1827 (?). Was in the Confederate Army. Member of Pat Cleburne Camp, etc. In cotton business. Survived by widow and two daughters: Misses Daisy and Lulu.

Sat., Jan. 16 (8-6): Remains of R. H. "Possum" Quarles arrived in Waco today and the funeral will be tomorrow. Brother, James H. Quarles is mng. editor of Fort Worth Telegram. Born in Waco July 26, 1872, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quarles, early settlers. Funeral tomorrow from St. Paul's. Burial in First Street cemetery, Rector Edw. Temple officiating.

Sat., Jan. 16 (8-6): Mr. B. Simon, 85, died yesterday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. A. E. Kiersky, 1017 Austin. Funeral from the residence tomorrow. Burial at Hebrew Rest cemetery. Mon., Jan. 18 (5): Harry Quarles died last Thursday in Shreveport, and was buried yesterday, with Typographical Union as pallbearers. Brother, James Hays Quarles of Fort Worth. Burial at First Street cemetery.

Mon., Jan. 18 (2): W. T. Pedigo, 38, died today, and was buried at Oakwood cemetery. Pedigo was Sexton at Oakwood. His father-in-law, G. A. Simmons, was also once sexton there.

Tue., Jan. 19 (2-3): Mrs. M. R. Barnard died at Del Rio yesterday. Funeral from the residence of M. H. Lane, 406 North 8th.

Wed., Jan. 20 (4-4): Ethel Pearce, age 4, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pearce, died in East Waco yesterday. Funeral today; burial at Greenwood cemetery.

Wed., Jan. 20 (5-3): Mrs. Mary R. Barnard died in Del Rio, age 73. The remains arrive in Waco today. Funeral today from First Baptist church. Widow of George Barnard, first white settler of McLennan county. Nee Mary R. Ross, daughter of Shapley P. Ross, and sister of Gov. L. S. Ross. Married to George Barnard Dec. 17, 1850, in Waco at the time of the marriage of Miss Margaret Ross and Frank Harris. Mr. Barnard was here in 1839; died about 20 years ago. Surviving children: Mrs. M. H. Lane, Mrs. Ella McClarty of Waco; Geo. Barnard of Waco; Mrs. J. M. Arnold of Arkansas; Shapley P. and Pete Barnard of Del Rio; and Misses Lily, Florence, Minnie and Laura of Del Rio. Moved to Del Rio two or three years ago. Mary Street in Waco was named for Mary C. Ross.

Thu., Jan. 21 (8-4): Mrs. Margaret Reynolds died today at the residence of her son, 217 North 7th, age 98. Sons: W. H. Reynolds of Waco, Joe R. Reynolds in Duluth, Minn., and Dr. Reynolds in Battle Creek. Daughter in Battle Creek also. Mother of 14 children. Born in Ireland. Funeral pending.

Fri., Jan. 22 (2): Mrs. Florence J Bolton, sister of George Barnard, died today aged 31. Her mother, Mrs. Mary R. Barnard, was buried on Wednesday.

Mon., Jan. 25 (5-3): Remains of Mrs. Florence Bolton arrived in Waco yesterday from Del Rio. Funeral yesterday from First Baptist Church. Burial at Oakwood.

Mon., Jan. 25 (5-3): Remains of Mrs. Margaret Reynolds, age 98, were shipped to Battle Creek, Michigan.

Sat., Jan. 30 (5-4): Sam Bell died yesterday near Hewitt in a well, by asphy­xiation. Leaves mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Bell, three brothers and a sister.

Tue., Feb. 2 (3-1): Funeral for Sam Bell of Hewitt were on Saturday, Rev. B. J. Kendall. Burial at Robinson.

Tue., Feb. 2 (4-4): B. D. Owen died at the home of Dan T. McGaughey, on North 22nd, of pneumonia. Member of the Waco Bar. Funeral from the Austin Avenue Methodist church tomorrow.

Mon., Feb. 15 (5-4): Mrs. Geo. W. Todd died at the Curtis house yesterday, aged 26. Married six years ago in St. Louis; nee Miss Katherine Star. Came to Waco four years ago. Ship remains to St. Louis tomorrow.

Wed., Feb. 17 (5-3): Remains of Mrs. Willie T. Manahan arrived in Waco from Pecos City yesterday, and were taken to Fall & Puckett. Funeral today from the Fifth Street Methodist Church; burial at Oakwood cemetery. Formerly of Waco. Daughter of Jackson Thomason, early settler of Waco.

Wed., Feb. 17 (8-3): Mattie I., infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Stanford, died yesterday. Funeral today; burial at Oakwood cemetery from the residence at 827 North 15th.

Thu., Feb. 18 (5-3): Ethel Thompson died yesterday in an accident when horses became frightened. Remains to John C. Lees; funeral today.

Thu., Feb. 18 (8-6): W. M. Walker, a printer, died at city hospital today, of typhoid pneumonia. Came to Waco in early February. Age about 28. Apparently from McAlester. Is to be buried by the Typographical Union on their lot in Oakwood cemetery.

Fri., Feb. 19 (8-3): W. T. Pharr died yesterday at the home of his brother, 820 South 4th, age 54. Funeral from the residence today. Burial at Oakwood cemetery. Had Bright's disease. Had been living in Duffau.

Fri., Feb. 19 (8-3): J. F. Alexander, 34, died yesterday in East Waco at the residence of J. S. Harrison. Funeral today. Burial at Oakwood cemetery, Rev. H. H. Moreland officiating, from the residence, 324 McKeen street.

Mon., Mar. 7 (4-4): Mrs. Elva Edwards, wife of Judge W. M. Edwards, died yes­terday in Dallas, where she resided 32 years. Born Hickman Co., Tenn., 52 years ago. To Dallas in 1872. Well known in Waco. Six children: Walker G., Alfred A. of Waco, Geo. Clifton, William M. Jr. of Oklahoma, Miss Elizabeth, and Pat, a boy of 13. Also survived by her mother; four sisters: Mrs. Catto, Mrs. Bowser, and Miss Annie Gray and Mrs. Browne of Centerville, Texas; and two brothers: Henry Gray and Judge Edward Gray. Burial in Greenwood cemetery.

Wed., Mar. 9 (2-5): Mrs. F. D. Bryan, sister of Mrs. G. B. Rogers of Waco, died Monday. Funeral Tuesday in Fort Worth.

Thu., Mar. 31 (5-5): Chas. L. Martin died at the family residence, 4th & Cleveland, yesterday. Born in Georgia 1840. To Alabama at age 18. Was in the Civil War, Company A, 2nd Alabama Cavalry, To Texas in 1871, and to Waco four years ago. Had property in Itasca. Was married twice, first to Miss Belsora Walker in 1866. She died in 1870, leaving two sons. In 1872 married Miss Phoebe Easter of Mississippi. Eight children survive: Chas., Doc, Arthur, Hugh, Jos­eph, Nora, Emma, and Docie. Ship remains to Itasca. Funeral tomorrow.

In Confederate Army at 16. To Smith Co., Texas, 1869. Married Aug. 14, 1870, to Miss Mary A. Ellison, daughter of Dr. Z. and Mrs. Emily T. Ellison. To Waco in 1878. In 1880, was trustee of Baylor University. Member of Pat Cleburne Camp, and of McLennan County Bar Association. Leaves wife and three children: M. Douglass now Mrs. Geo. W. McDaniel, Geo. Judge Nicholas William Battle, was age 85; Born in Warren Co., Georgia, Jan. 2, 1820. Was admitted to the bar in 1844. In 1862, into the Confederate Army. Lt. Col. in Texas Cavalry. First wife was Mary Ann Cabiness of Forsythe, Georgia, mar­ried in 1846. She died in 1889. Married again in 1901 to Miss Jessie Mackellar of Ontario, Canada. Surviving children: Tom E. and Mrs. L. W.Goodrich of Marlin, Judge Alfred Battle and Edgar Battle of Seattle. Burial in Lake View Cemetery.

Tue., Dec. 12 (5-3): W. T. Woodward, a cotton broker of Waco, died today from burns in an office fire in the Abeel building. Age 48. Came from Alabama in 1877. In the cotton business with his father, E. R. Woodward. Leaves wife and three children: Willie T., Edgar, and Esther.

Mon., Dec. 18 (2-5): Mrs. Ernestene Wise, 74, died yesterday at the residence of Mrs. S. Greenberg, 424 North 8th. Came to Waco in 1875. Survived by two sons: Dan and I. Wise of Waco, and two daughters: Mrs. Jennie Veit of Gaines­ville and Mrs. Fannie Gelberg of Los Angeles.

At age 19, to the University of Nashville, studied medicine. Began practice at Western, Kentucky, 1856; then moved to Southern Arkansas. In 1865, moved to Texas and to McLennan county. Large farm on the Brazos. In 1869, became a resident of Waco, and went into the cotton business. Married in Stewart Co., Tenn., Feb. 23, 1858, to Miss Emma Mizell, who survives. Surviving children: Mrs. T. O. Plun­kett of Robinson, E. B. Randle of Indian Territory, Frank Randle of Colorado, Mrs. Sears Earle of Waco, Payton Randle of New York City, Mrs. J. M. Sat., Mar. 17 (8-6): Judge B. W. Rimes of San Angelo died in San Angelo. Former judge of McLennan County district. Ship remains to Marlin for burial.

Mon., Mar. 19 (8-4): Sam Henderson was found dead near the east end of the Cotton Belt bridge yesterday. A negro. Neck and shoulder broken. Age about 50.

Wed., Mar. 21 (5-3): Dr. J. C. J. King died today of apoplexy. Born Wilson Co., Tenn., Mar. 4, 1842, son of Adam C. King. In 1846, with his father to Washington Co., Texas; then to Crockett. In April, 1861. young King went into the C.S.A., Company A, 2nd Texas Cavalry. Graduated from Tulane Medical in 1871. To Waco Nov., 1871. Married in Milford, Mar. 3, 1863, to Mrs. Bettie L. T. Zollicoffer, born in Tennessee. Five children, four sons and one daughter: Rosa, Jas. C. J. Jr., William E. B., Lacy B., and Collins T.

Thu., Mar. 22 (5-5): Rev. J. S. Cheek of Paducah, Ky., died at the residence of his brother-in-law, Homer Wells on Speight, yesterday. Age nearly 43. Had wife and five children. Wife nee Minnie Wells, daughter of C. T. Wells and sister of Mrs. J. W. Gooch, Homer Wells and Frank Wells of Waco. Ship remains to Paducah for burial at Madisonville.

Thu., Mar. 22 (8-6): Funeral of Dr. J. C. J. King will be tomorrow from the First Presbyterian church. Pat Cleburne Camp will furnish an honor guard. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Sat., Mar. 24 (2-3): Mrs. M. P. Waddell died today at her residence, 1520 S. 5th. Born Fayette Co., Ala., Jan. 18, 1843, and married M. P. Waddell in Apr. of 1865. To Texas 1876. Funeral from the residence tomorrow. Burial at Oakwood cemetery. Husband and children: G. A., Minton, Otto, Pearl, and Lizzie.

Tue., Mar. 27 (2-2): J. H. Bennett died yesterday at Jefferson in a shooting. Former Waco newspaper man, Age 67.
