Thu., May 19 (8-6): Estate of I. M. Pearlstone, deceased, was admitted to probate. Rachel Pearlstone is the survivor.

Sun., May 22 (5-4): The Oakwood Cemetery Association superintended a clean-up of the cemetery. Lot owners sent workers. Under the old management, the city paid a sexton $25 per month and allowed him one hand at $1.50 per day.

Mon., May 23 (8-4): The remains of Mrs. Annie Larkin were brought to Waco yes­terday and to the Catholic cemetery for burial beside her late husband.

Wed., May 25 (8-3): Chas. Watson is on trial for the death of Sid Largen, in Fifth District Court.

Thu., May 26 (5-3): The Largen killing was May 1, 1896. Watson was tried four times; is now acquitted.

Thu., May 26 (8-3): Miss Bettie L. Berry, youngest daughter of Hon. J. R. Berry of Huntsville, Ark., died May 23. Sister of Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. Horsful, and Mrs. Fairchild of Waco.

Fri., May 27 (5-3): Mrs. Thomas P. Kelley, formerly of Waco, died today at Louisville, Kentucky.

Fri., May 27 (5-4): Mrs. Sarah H. Torbett of Waco died yesterday at Marlin, age 67. The remains were brought to Waco . Funeral today from the family residence at 713 South 3rd; burial at First Street cemetery, Dr. B. H. Carroll officiat­ing. A resident of McLennan county since 1852.

Fri., May 27 (5-4): Frederick H. Stolte died yesterday at the family residence 1425 Franklin , age 83. Funeral today from the German M. E. church; burial at Oakwood cemetery, Rev. Traeger officiating. Born Schaunburg, Germany , Nov. 1814. To Texas in 1850, and to Waco in 1886. Leaves a wife, two daughters, Tina and Berte; and three sons, Frederick W., Herman, and Louis Stolte; all grown.

Sat., May 28 (8-2): Fred Jones has been found guilty of shooting Ben Riddle, and given three years.

Sun., May 29 (5-3): Capt. Edward G. Hanrick died yesterday at the residence of A. J. Leslie, 1024 Speight, aged 54. Lived in Waco and Golinda. A member of Waco Lodge 1040, Knights of Pythias; a Confederate veteran. Funeral today from St. Paul 's Episcopal church.

Sat., May 28 (6-3): Much good work reported done at Oakwood by the ladies of the Association.

Mon., May 30 (8-3): Francis E. Lunsford, infant of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Lunsford, was buried yesterday at First Street cemetery.

Mon., May 30 (8-3): The remains of Mrs. J. B. Vandyne were buried yesterday at Oakwood cemetery.

Tue., May 31 (8-1): Arnet Hampton, colored, alias Henry Williams, was arrested for murder Sept. 9, 1872.

Fri., June 3 (8-3): Mrs. W. H. Mendenhall, mother of W. K. Mendenhall of Waco, died June 1 at Hockley, Texas.

Mon., June 6 (8-3): Zuleika Moore was buried yesterday at Oakwood. Funeral at Central Christian church.

Thu., June 9 (5-1): Judge G. B. Gerald was tried for killing W. A. Harris, and was acquitted.

Sun., June 12 (8-4): Tom Griffin was found insane. He is a native of Liverpool.

Mon., June 13 (8-4): Resolution, in the death of Fannie Prescott, by the Waco Fire Department.

Thu., June 16 (8-6): Infant child of Police Officer Will Wood died Tuesday, and was buried yesterday from the family residence, 504 South 11th, in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

Sat., June 18 (5-4): The 54th District Court decided yesterday in the case of Geo. W. Dowdy vs Oakwood Cemetery Association, that the ordinance passed Mar. 10, 1898, is to take effect April 14. The association will not be able to take charge legally.

Sat., June 18 (5-2): The Court of Civil Appeals at Austin finds that the Waco ordinance regulating the reservation is void.

Tue., June 21 (8-2): Mrs. Elizabeth Rowland died at her residence, 505 North 4th yesterday. Funeral today from the residence; burial at Oakwood, Rev. Mr. Appell officiating.

Sat., June 25 (2-3): L. W. Quarles of Hillsboro suicided yesterday at his residence on S. Abbitt, with a shotgun. Leaves a wife and daughter, Miss Quin­cy. Aged 51-9-13.

Sun., June 26 (5-2): Lucinda Moore, colored, was yesterday shot by Walter Ford, colored. She died.

Mon., June 27 (8-2): Funeral yesterday for Lucinda Moore at the New Hope Bap­tist church on North 6th, Elder Dennis officiating. Burial at First Street cem­etery.

Wed., June 29 (8-2): Mr. M. Silvorstein died yesterday at his home, 928 South 3rd. Funeral today from the residence; burial at Hebrew Rest cemetery.

Tue., July 5 (8-3): Lt. William E. Shipp, 10th U. S. Cavalry, born in North Carolina, and a cousin of Judge J. B. Buxton of Waco, was killed in the Battle of Santiago on July 1.

Thu., July 7 (5-5): The grounds of Oakwood cemetery have improved greatly since the ladies took charge. They take nothing for their services. Monthly payments for cleaning the lots go to care for the cemetery.

Thu., July 7 (8-4): Gabe Holley was recently adjudged insane. Will go to a place open for him in an asylum.

Sat., July 9 (8-3): Lillian E. Williams died July 8. Wife of James L. Williams. Leaves a husband and 2 children. Funeral at the residence, 720 North 14th, Rev. Mr. Page officiating. The remains are to go to Richmond, Virginia, for burial; her old home.

Sun., July 10 (5-4): J. I. Hassler died yesterday. He was a farmer. Funeral today from the residence, at Preston & St. Charles in 5th ward. Burial in East Waco cemetery.

Sun., July 10 (5-4): W. A. Yarber died yesterday at his residence, 615 Pecan, East Waco. A resident of Waco five years. Leaves a wife, son and daughter. Funeral from the residence today; burial in East Waco cemetery.

Sun., July 10 (8-3): Mrs. Mary Gaskill was yesterday returned to the asylum at Austin.

Mon., July 11 (8-1): Cal Hilman, negro, yesterday shot his sweetheart Evelyn, a daughter of Tony Pool, mulatto truck farmer. He then killed himself.

Mon., July 11 (8-4): Fannie Anderson, colored, died last night. She had been stabbed by another negro woman about a month ago.

Mon., July 11 (8-4): W. A. Yarber, who died recently, was hit on the head about a month ago with a bottle.

Wed., July 13 (8-3): Mrs Laura E. Owen, wife of F. S. Owen, died yesterday. She leaves a husband and four small children. Funeral today from the residence, 8th & Dutton.

Wed., July 13 (8-3): Carrie Lulu Reaves, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. B. Reaves of White Hall, died Monday. Burial at White Hall cemetery.

Thu., July 14 (5-4): Sarah, age 9, and Elizabeth, age 8, daughters of David Hudson, are missing. They left home Sunday for Sunday School. May be with the separated wife in Louisiana.

Wed., July 20 (4-4): George Dauer was found dead yesterday in the rear of the Mannerchor social rooms, aged about 42. He probably fell down some steps. Had no relatives here.

Thu., July 21 (6-4): Jessie Lyon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lyon, died yesterday age 17 years and 5 months. Funeral today at the residence, 525 Rusk, Rev. C. L. Browning officiating. Burial in East Waco cemetery.

Sat., July 23 (5-5): Miss Clara Dodd died yesterday, age 56. Sister of Mrs. George Hunter Smith. Funeral from the residence, 16th & Blair, Rev. S. A. King; burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Sat., July 23 (8-3): Lillie Carson, colored, was adjudged insane yesterday. Age about 18.

Mon., July 25 (5-1): Dr. J. L. Dean died yesterday, age 61. Resident of Waco about ten years; came here from Dawson. A physician. Leaves two sons, Dr. J. J. Dean, and John Dean. Also four daughters, Mrs. John M. Connor, Mrs. John H. Sears, Mrs. R. B. Marsh, and Miss Hattie Dean. Funeral today from the resi­dence at 3rd & Jones. Burial at Oakwood, Rev. B. H. Carroll officiating.

Tue., July 26 (8-1): W. B. Thomas, 48, died yesterday at the residence of his sister, Mr. W. B. McJunkin on South 8th. Fall & Puckett will ship the remains to Navasota for burial. Leaves a family.

Wed., July 27 (8-3): Mrs. Malilla E. J. Berry, wife of ex-Auditor J. R. Berry, died last Friday in Madison County, Ark. Burial at Huntsville cemetery. Born Sumner County, Tennessee, Jan. 21, 1833; was 65. Daughter of Governor Isaac Murphy and sister of Mrs. Mary Lowe of Huntsville. Mother of Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. Horsfui, and Mrs. Fairchild of Waco.

Thu., July 28 (6-2): J. S. McClain of Moody died Sunday. Father of Mrs. E. D. Ashby of Waco. An old pioneer. Leaves four children: Mrs. E. D. Ashby, Mrs. W. C. O'Bryan of McGregor, Mrs. W. C. Noonan of Moody, and John J. McClain of Moody. Born in Adair County, Kentucky, Oct. 26, 1827; died July 24, 1898.

Fri., July 29 (8-2): William Meyer, a bricklayer, age about 29, was buried yesterday.

Fri., July 29 (8-2): Nameless baby found at 500 North 10 street died last night. To Fall & Puckett for burial.

Thu., Aug. 11 (5-4): Ed Sims, colored, was shot and killed Tuesday night near Harrison.

Fri., Aug. 12 (5-2): Sexton Ammerman, who was employed by the Oakwood Cemetery Association, yesterday had an intruder who wanted to dig a grave and bury a child without a death certificate or paying the gate fee of $1.

Sat., Aug. 13 (1-3): The Spanish-American War was declared at an end.

Sat., Aug. 13 (3-3): Chas. W. Herring died of fever at Miami, Florida. He was a former student at Ad-Ran University.

Mon., Aug. 15 (3-3): James J. Gribble of Waco died suddenly at San Antonio, age 14. Son of Robert Gribble of Austin, and brother of Robert F., Gus, and C. W. Gribble of Waco. Age 23. Formerly of Waco. Burial place uncertain.

Tue., Aug. 16 (4-6): Mrs. J. R. Hall, 71, died yesterday. Mother of Mrs. C. W. Battaile. Was here from Aquilla, Miss., to visit daughter at 1606 North 5th. Burial at family cemetery at Elm Mott.

Tue., Aug. 16 (4-6): Remains of James J. Gribble to be buried today at Oakwood cemetery.

Sat., Aug. 20 (8-2): "Squire" Winn, old Waco citizen, colored, was buried yes­terday, aged 98.

Mon., Aug. 22 (8-3): A baby died yesterday in the 5th ward. Mother destitute. Application to the County for burial.

Tue., Aug. 23 (2-1): The remains of Jesse Waddell of Waco, son of A. J. Waddell, who was killed in a railway accident near Grand Saline, Texas, were brought to Waco and buried at the 5th ward cemetery.

Fri., Aug. 26 (8-3): Howard Rhodes, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rhodes, died yes­terday. Funeral today from the family residence, 22nd & Fort.

Mon., Sept. 5 (3-1): Three children, Tennie and Furbie, twins, and Mary age 3, daughters of H. H. Prate and wife, died in a fire at their home near Speegle­ville. Were buried in a single coffin.

Mon., Sept. 5 (3-2): Mrs. Mayo, 24, wife of Geo. Mayo of Patrick, died Satur­day. Funeral yesterday; burial at Patrick.

Mon., Sept. 5 (3-3): R. L. Sims of the Oriental restaurant and J. E. Perry of Perry Bros. died yesterday when run over by a Cotton Belt train on Mary between 5th & 6th. Their horse was frightened and they were thrown on the track. John E. Perry, age 27, was a cigar manufacturer on South 3rd. Robert Sims was about 26. Funeral for Perry today from the residence of his brother, William W. Per­ry, 820 North 8th; burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Tue., Sept. 6 (8-2): Funeral of John E. Perry yesterday from brother's resi­dence. Funeral for Robert L. Sims was yesterday also. Processions together to Oakwood. Perry was a member of the North Waco Fire Co.; also Knights of Pythias.

Wed., Sept. 7 (8-3): Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter L. Mayfield died yes­terday. Funeral from the residence at 7th & Herring today.

Wed., Sept. 7 (8-3): W. H. Smith died today. Leaves four children: O. Smith, Edward Smith, Carter Smith, and Florida Smith. Funeral tomorrow from the Jackson house; burial at Oakwood cemetery. Resident of Waco 30 years.

Mon., Sept. 12 (8-1): Miss Florence Leona Daniel, 19, died Sept. 10 at mother's residence, 1011 Dallas street. Funeral Sunday; burial at Bosqueville cemetery.

Wed., Sept. 14 (5-2): Yesterday two marble statues were unveiled at Oakwood Cemetery: Hon. Richard Coke and Dr. D. R. Wallace. Dr. Wallace is still living. Inscriptions listed.

Thu., Sept. 15 (8-3): Amos Stone, age 8 years, has not been seen since Tues­day evening.

Fri., Sept. 16 (5-3): John H. Paine, a deaf mute, yesterday was adjudged insane.

Mon., Sept. 19 (2-1): Miss Winnie Davis died yesterday at Narragansett, Rhode Island. Born early in 1865. Was named Varine Anne Davis; youngest daughter of Jefferson Davis.

Tue., Sept. 20 (8-6): Mrs. Judith Harris Shelton died in Nelson County, Va., Sept. 16. Mother of Dr. S. E. Shelton of Waco.

Fri., Sept. 23 (3-3): James Wilson, colored porter at the Pacific saloon, was shot yesterday by R. L. Johnson, and is dangerously ill.

Fri., Sept. 23 (8-3): Mrs. R. C. Broodie died at her home six miles from Waco. Buried yesterday at McLennan cemetery.

Fri., Sept. 23 (8-4): Administrator's notice, estate of James T. Thomas, deceased, by Bettie J. Thomas.

Sat., Sept. 24 (2-1): Varrina Anne Jefferson Davis was buried at Richmond, Va., today, beside her father, attended by Confederate veterans.

Sat., Apr. 24 (8-2): James Davis, colored, died yesterday at his home, 906 S. 12th. Johnson was arrested for murder. To be buried in the colored division of First Street cemetery.

Mon., Sept. 26 (8-4): Funeral yesterday at White Rock cemetery for W. J. Latti­more who died Saturday. Rev. W. C. Lattimore of Denton is the only survivor of the family. Funeral attended by J. C. Lattimore and wife, C. C. Compere and wife and mother; Hon. O. L. Lattimore, a brother; and Rev. W. C. Lattimore of Denton, a brother.

Wed., Sept. 28 (8-3): A. C. Barnes of Hewitt died yesterday. Funeral yester­day at Standford's Chapel, 8 miles west of Waco.

Mon., Oct. 3 (4-6): Emmet Peyton died yesterday. He was struck on the head by a locomotive. The remains were taken to Mount Calm for burial beside his mother. She died when he was a baby and he was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. R. T. McMillin, who moved from Limestone county to Waco three years ago.

Tue., Oct. 4 (8-4): Mrs. W. P. Robinson died yesterday at her residence in East Waco, Funeral today, Rev. Browning officiating.

Sun., Oct. 9 (8-5): David Ryan died yesterday near 8th & Franklin. Suicide by opiate. Wife lives at 15th & Franklin. Fall & Puckett in charge.

Fri., Oct. 14 (6-1): George Dewberry, a negro conjurer, was yesterday adjudged insane.

Fri., Oct. 14 (8-4): John (or Julius?) McDonald died yesterday at the residence of John F. Toland, 624 South 1st, of wounds by E. Gates at the Bank Saloon on Wednesday. Age 33, unmarried. The remains were shipped to Fort Worth for bur­ial. His parents reside there.

Sun., Oct. 23 (6-4): Mrs. Ann Davis, age 70, died at the city hospital yester­day. Burial at Catholic cemetery.

Fri., Oct. 28 (6-1): Fredde Elvin Henry, age 15 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Henry, died yesterday at the residence on North 10th. To be buried today, Odd Fellows cemetery.

Fri., Oct. 28 (6-1): Miss Mattie Younce, 31, died yesterday at her residence, 13th & Burleson. Funeral yesterday; burial at Bosqueville. Sister of Lee Younce, corporal Company F, 2nd Texas.

Fri., Oct. 28 (6-1): Mrs. Mary J. Burrows, relict of G. W. Burrows, died yes­terday at the home of grandson, L. C. Rigsby, 719 South 5th, aged 65. The remains were shipped to Harrison Chapel cemetery in Freestone county. Three daughters survive: Mrs. Rigsby of Calvert, Mrs. Seef Shannon, and Mrs. Anderson Dew.

Sat., Oct. 29 (8-4): Harry Fell Dennison, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dennison, died yesterday at the residence, 1409 South 9th. Burial today.

Sun., Oct. 30 (1-6): Col. Robert Bell and William Davis were killed yesterday by Fred Hancock.

Sun., Oct. 30 (7-1): Judge W. G. Boyd, justice of the peace, precinct 4, and a pioneer of McLennan county, dropped dead yesterday. Father of William G. Boyd, Sheriff of Bosque county. A Mason. Had lived at China Spring. Funeral today near China Spring; and burial at family cemetery near there. Born Stewart Co., Tenn., Dec. 27, 1829, son of George and Mary Boyd. To Texarkana in 1858, and to McLennan county in 1862. Married in 1852 to Miss Minerva J. Mizell, Had eleven children. (Names and dates). Private in McCord's Battalion in Civil War.

Mon., Oct. 31 (5-2): Dr. J. H. Mullens died yesterday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Munnerlyn, 119 South 11th. Was injured a week before in stepping from a street car. Funeral from the residence today; burial at Oakwood. Born Lawrence County, Alabama, June 7, 1826. To Texas and to Waco in Dec. 1852. Married May 10, 1848, to Miss Isabella Downs in Heaton. She died Apr. 28, 1879. He was the first druggist in Waco. A Mason. In 1862, enrolled in 15th Texas Infantry as Asst. Surgeon under Dr. D. R. Wallace. Four children survive: Mrs. Etta Renick, Mrs. Geo. F. Munnerlyn, Fred Mullen and William Mullens. Resided at 603 South 3rd. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Tue., Nov. 1 (8-2): Funeral of Dr. J. H. Mullens who died Sunday night at the residence of Geo. T. Munnerly, 119 South 11th, was yesterday, Rev. W. L. Nelms pastor of 5th Street Methodist Church officiated; burial at Oakwood cemetery. Long funeral procession.

Wed., Nov. 2 (4-6): Mrs. Alex Sanger, wife of Alex Sanger of Sanger Bros. in Dallas and Waco, died yesterday in New York City. The news came to Sam Sanger of Waco. Nee Miss Fannie Fechenbach of Cincinnati. Age about 42. Married about 17 years. Was in failing health. The remains will be sent to Dallas.

Wed., Nov. 2 (6-4): Mrs. Alexander Sanger was born 48 years ago in Wirtemberg, Germany. To Cincinnati at age 9. To Dallas in 1876. Married there 19 years ago. Burial next Sunday.

Wed., Nov. 2 (8-4): Col. J. A. Blair died at home in Tupelo, Miss., yesterday. Brother of Capt. T. A. Blair of Waco, and father of Mrs. O. L. Stribling.

Thu., Nov. 3 (3-4): Corp. Alex Von Schluembach of Co. F, 2nd Texas Infantry, died yesterday of typhoid, at his mother's home, 20th & Gorman in Waco. A nephew of Baron Von Schluembach who founded a colony in Falls county. Age about 18 or 19. Funeral today; burial at Oakwood cemetery.

'Sat., Nov. 5 (5-4): Dr. Thomas Moore died today. Funeral today from the family residence, 736 South 3rd.

Sun., Nov. 6 (6-4): Dr. Thomas Moore was born Aug. 6, 1815, in Mercer County, Kentucky; married to Miss Eliza J. Dodd who survives. In 1853, to Burnet Co., Texas, and to Waco in 1867. Helped call the secession convention for the Civil War. Was arrested with oldest son John in 1866 as an obstructionist to recon­struction, and was kept confined for three months. Member of Waco Bar Assn.

Mon., Nov. 7 (8-4): Out-of-town relatives attending the Moore funeral: J. C. Frazier, wife and son Frank, of Bosque county; Miss Ellen Frazier Littleton and two children of Temple; Dr. J. M. Frazier of Belton; and Banton Moore of Austin.

Tue., Nov. 8 (8-4): Singleton Trawick, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Tra­wick, died yesterday. Funeral today from the residence on South 11th; burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Thu., Nov. 10 (8-4): Funeral of J. W. Talley today at the residence of Mrs. Talley, 1903 Austin. Age 33; burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Fri., Nov. 11 (8-4): Ruth Margaret Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Stevens of College Heights, was buried at Oakwood last Tuesday.

Fri., Nov. 18 (8-3): The will of Mrs. Rosa Stehlik was yesterday filed for probate.

Sun., Nov. 20 (8-3): H. F. Worsham died yesterday at his home in College Heights. A resident of Waco a number of years. Was the first driver of the Waco Fire Dept. Age 35. Leaves a widow and one child. Burial today by Waco Fire De­partment, at Oakwood cemetery.

Wed., Nov. 23 (8-4): Benjamin Peverly Lambdin, age 21 years and 9 months, died of pneumonia yesterday. Born at Millican, Brazos county, Feb. 23, 1877. When he was age 2, the family moved to Waco. Worked for Western Union. Funeral from the residence today, Rev. Dr. King; burial at Oakwood.

Sun., Nov. 27 (5-4): William Layton died at Axtell Friday. Head cook for the County road force. Had an argument with John Ed Sparks. Was buried yesterday at Axtell. Sparks surrendered.

Tue., Nov. 29 (5-3): R. B. Banton, former deputy county clerk, was adjudged insane yesterday.

Wed., Nov. 30 (3-5): Mrs. Emma Downs, wife of J. B. Downs, died at the family residence, 1017 Jefferson, Monday; was buried yesterday at Odd Fellows ceme­tery.

Fri., Dec. 2 (8-5): Miss Joanna Graham, age 20, died at the home of her par­ents in East Waco Wednesday; and was buried at Concord cemetery yesterday.

Sun., Dec. 4 (10-4): A sketch of the life of Isaac Brock, age 110. Uncle Isaac was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina, March 1, 1788. Private in the War of 1812. To Georgia after the war; was a blacksmith. Married Lucinda Caroline Hill; had four children. A scout in the Texas war for independence; met Davey Crockett. In 1861 was impressed into Confederate service; cast cannon for the Southern army. Married a second time after his first wife died, to Sarah Jane Sparks. He now resides near Valley Mills with his son-in-law, Ed Drake. Has family Bible.

Mon., Dec. 5 (3-3): Ruby Vernon Kennedy, age 4, daughter of S. B. Kennedy, 809 South 4th, was seriously burned yesterday in a fire at their home, and died late yesterday. Funeral today from the residence; burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Mon., Dec. 5 (8-4): Hugh White McCrum died Nov.27 at Denver, Colorado. A bro­ther of Mrs. James H. Sturgis of Waco, and of Miss Mary W. McCrum. Remains shipped to Lexington, Virginia, his former home.

Wed., Dec. 14 (5-3): James Drake received a pardon from Gov. Culberson. In a dispute in 1887, he killed Prof. S. L. Guinn. The dispute was approximately Aug. 2, 1882.

Thu., Dec. 15 (8-4): L. C. Branch, a citizen of East Waco, died at his resi­dence at 200 Dallas street, yesterday, aged 68. Born Shelby County, Tenn. Was in the C.S.A. To Waco after the war. Leaves a wife and a brother, William Branch of Breckenridge. Funeral today from the residence; burial in East Waco cemetery.

Fri., Dec. 16 (5-3): A. B. Thomas was tried and found guilty of the murder of J. P. Penn, Dec. 14, 1897.

Thu., Dec. 29 (4-5): Mrs. B. Massie, sister of the late J. P. Blessington, died at the residence of Mrs. Blessington, 517 South 11th, yesterday. Was in ill health, and got worse on the trip from Mass. to Waco for the funeral of her brother. Age 53. Born at Belfast, Ireland, in 1846. Married in 1878. Fall & Puckett shipped the remains to Mass., accompanied by Mr. Walsh.

Mon., May 15 (4-6): Mrs. S. W. Long, mother of J. L. Long, died yesterday at the home of her son, 1627 South 5th. Born July 4, 1809. Married when about 19 to Jake Long in Montgomery County, Alabama. Was left a widow in 1858 with eight children. Five of the children are now dead. Funeral today from the residence, 1627 South 5th, Rev. Dr. R. C. Burleson officiating. Burial at Oakwood.

Wed., May 17 (6-2): Uncle Gilbert Jackson, 87, died at his home near Golinda Sunday. Was buried in family cemetery Monday. Came to McLennan county fifty years ago. Lived in the same house since 1851. Leaves a wife and 3 daughters: Mrs. S. R. Evans of Waco, Mrs. W. W. Slaughter and Mrs. Buck Jackson.

Wed., May 17 (6-2): Gilbert Jackson, born in Alabama Nov. 16, 1813, and died near Golinda May 15, 1899. Married in Alabama; moved to Mississippi. In 1840, to Washington County, Texas; and to McLennan County in 1851, arriving on Christ­mas day. Married in Alabama Jan. 1, 1834, to Miss Mary R. Mitchell. She died Jan. 25, 1883. Ten children: 5 sons and 5 daughters. A Mason.

Sun., May 21 (2-1): Frazier Edmond, age 10, son of Mrs. William Edmond, drown­ed yesterday in the Bosque near Walker Crossing, five miles from Waco. Nephew of Hon. H. C. Lindsey. Mrs. Edmond is a sister of William Lambdin. The body was not found.

Mon., May 22 (5-3): The body of Frazier Edmond was found yesterday in 15 feet of water about one mile above the Bosque bridge.

Wed., June 21 (8-4): Mrs. J. M. Lee died at the residence of Mrs. J. G. Winter on Columbus yesterday. Came here from Houston on a visit to her sister, and became ill. Married Miss Mabel Hinchman Apr. 30, 1885. Five children born: Noine, Rose, Harry, and Joney Jr., and one died. Was an Odd Fellow, Knight of Pythias, and Fire Department. Aged parents, Major and Mrs. Wiley Jones, and his wife, survive. The remains are at the residence of his brother, Travis Jones, 1302 Austin. Sun., Jan. 21 (9-1): Mrs. Jane Lilly, mother of Dr. G. H. Randle, died yes­terday at the family residence on Washington street. Born Stuart Co., Tenn., 1815. Tue., Sept. 4 (5-3): Col. E. A. Jones, attorney, died at his residence at 1601 Columbus yesterday. Born Somerset Co., Maryland, 1836. His father was Capt. Alexander Jones, Maryland farmer and soldier in the War of 1812. His mother was Elizabeth Cary of Maryland. He leaves two brothers: Dr. Daniel W. Jones and W. Edgar Jones of Somerset County, Maryland; and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Long, 86, and Miss Matilda Jones, 84, in Princess Ann, Md. Another brother, Dr. Denwood Jones, a surgeon in the Crimean War, died many years ago. He was twice married, first to Miss Lucy F. Markham at Vicksburg, Miss., in 1861, and died at Waco Oct. 1884. In 1889 he married a second time, to Mrs. Lizzie Lotta at Waco, who survives. By the first marriage he had four children: Mrs. R. G. Patton, Misses Susie and Mattie, and Geo. W. Jones. By the second mar­riage, one child, Edgar A. Jones. Graduated from Jefferson College, Pennsylvan­ia in 1858. January 1862, joined the 28th Miss. Cavalry. To Texas and to Waco, 1870, and joined the law firm of Norris, Sleeper and Jones.

Thu., Jan. 24 (4-4): Kearney Rolen, 22, died Monday at West, and was buried yesterday.

Fri., Jan. 25 (3-7): John Anderson, age 2, was killed today at Moody.

Sat., Jan. 26 (8-3): Remains of F. E. Stone, the photographer who died Thurs­day, are to be buried in East Waco today. Fall & Puckett in charge.

Mon., Jan. 28 (4-3): Kearney Roden [or Rolen] died at West Last Monday, and was buried at Bold Springs.

Mon., Jan. 28 (8): Died yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. C. P. Schieffer, Mrs. Lucy Derryberry, age 50. Another daughter, Mrs. Don Janes; brother, Richard Jones of Riesel; and a sister. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Fri., Feb. 1 (8-2): Dr. S. G. Morse, aged physician, died yesterday at the resi­dence of his son, Geo. M. Morse, 1808 North 6th. To Waco from Boonville, Ky. to live with son, recently. Leaves aged wife and two sons, Geo. W. of Waco and Fred H. of Davemport, Iowa. Born Madison Co., N. Y. Oct. 6, 1828. In April, 1855, married Miss Hattie Nelson Brooks. Funeral from the residence tomorrow. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Sat., Feb. 2 (5-4): Alfred Cleveland, of 17 Webster, was killed by a woman near Gurley. Negro. Lula Johnson was arrested.

Sun., Feb. 3 (8-1): Luke Blocker, negro, was killed yesterday by Israel James, negro bartender. Age about 25.

Fri., Feb. 8 (8-7): Earl Givens, negro boy, was killed yesterday in an oil mill accident. Fell about 25 feet. Age about 18.

Mon., Feb. 11 (3-5): Col. James Hays Quarles was hazed at College Station last night.

Tue., Feb. 12 (8-5): Funeral of H. B. Russell, who died Sunday, is pending; probably Wednesday afternoon. Sister from Illinois expected today. Will be buried at Oakwood cemetery.

Wed., Feb. 13 (5-3): Funeral for Henry M. Russell, late cashier of M.K. & T. freight office, is today from the Episcopal church. Burial at Oakwood cemetery. His sister, Mrs. Dr. E. J. Steiner, at Quincy, Illinois.

Sat., Feb. 16 (8-5): Funeral of E. K. Evans, who died at College Heights yes­terday, from the residence today. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Tue., Feb. 19 (8-6): Mrs. Louisa K. Kellner died at the residence of her son, Eugene, at 15th & Vermont, yesterday. Remains shipped to Lagrange.

Wed., Feb. 20 (4-6): Mrs. A. J. Anderson died near Hillsboro Monday in a railroad accident. Remains were sent to West for burial. Wife and six children.

Wed., Feb. 20 (5-3): Mrs. J. B. Wall, 72, died at the family residence yester­day. Old resident of Waco. Funeral yesterday from the residence. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Fri., Feb. 22 (5-5): Ross Battle died at his residence on South 3rd near Web­ster, yesterday. Son of Judge N. W. Battle at Seattle. Age 43. Unmarried. Also survived by Hon. Edgar Battle, U. S. Mon., Mar. 4 (8-4): Mrs. M. L. Crow, wife of Oscar Crow, died yesterday at her home in East Waco, age 18. Married three years. Funeral from the residence today. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Tue., Mar. 5 (4-4); Mamie Pearl, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Cart­wright, died in Dallas at the residence of Prof. W. W. Darby yesterday. The remains will be sent to Waco for burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Wed., Mar. 6 (8-3): Remains of Mamie Pearl Cartwright arrived yesterday, and were taken to the residence of R. L. Cartwright on College Heights. Funeral today.

Thu., Mar. 14 (2-7): W. D. Custead airship at Elm Mott is to have its engine tested.

Mon., Mar. 18 (3-5): Mary Bell, infant child of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Orand, died at the family residence yesterday. A few months old. Funeral from the residence at 225 North 8th today, Rev. Dr. Page officiating.

Wed., Mar. 20 (5-3): Virgin Flores was killed on Bridge street yesterday by Policeman Robert Buchanan in self defense. Was from San Antonio; not well known here. Fall & Puckett in charge.

Wed., Mar. 20 (8-4): Mrs. Flora Wilson, sister of Sam Freund, died at Galves­ton recently, shot by husband W. L. Wilson.

Thu., Mar. 21 (5-3): Jake Benedick died at his home near 18th & Barnard yes­terday. Wife, mother, and two children survive. Employed by Sanger Bros. Funeral today from the residence, 1716 Barnard; burial at Hebrew Rest.

Thu., Mar. 21 (5): Joseph Stokes died yesterday. A single man. Buried at Oak-wood cemetery.

Fri., Mar. 22 (6-4): Dr. John S. Tanner of Baylor University died at his home on South 7th yesterday. Heart trouble. Born Henderson county, Texas, 1869. Sur­vived by wife and three children. Entered the ministry. Funeral tomorrow from Baylor. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Sun., Mar. 24 (5-2): Prof. John S. Tanner was buried at Oakwood yesterday.

Sun., Mar. 24 (19-3): Mar. Mary H. Bird died yesterday at the home of her son, J. H. Bird, 1613 South 3rd, age 66. Resided here most of her life. Two children: Mr. J. H. and Mrs. C. J. Davis. Funeral from the residence. Burial at Oakwood.

Sun., Mar. 24 (8): Henry White died at 215 Dallas yesterday, age 75. Three children: Harry of Waco, Mrs. Sam P. Herbert of Waco, Mrs. Frank Winter of Fort Worth. Another daughter, Mrs. W. C. Kellum, died some year ago. Burial at Oakwood cemetery.

Mon., Mar. 25 (5-4): D. A. Harris died suddenly near the Katy depot Saturday. Aged 55. No known relatives. Was buried yesterday in East Waco cemetery.
