Dr. Frank M. Sporer

Here is a newspaper clipping of Dr Sporer, who
was our family Dr. when we lived in Pilot Grove,
in the 1940's. I'm sure he was loved by a lot of people
in that area.
Thanks Betty (Busby) Capparelli
And this from Ann Sporer Smith, July 2006
"Daddy grew up in Sherman, went to AC, then to the
University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. He settled in Van
Alstyne where he practiced medicine for a long, long time. I grew
up in VA and now live in Fort Smith, AR.
His
grandfather, the Rev John S. Moore, was pastor of the 1st Presbyterian
Church in Sherman in the late 1800's, dying in 1903. "They" say that
even the saloons in town closed for his funeral. "Preacher Moore"
was also a early supporter of Austin College and one of the early trustees
when it moved to Sherman. There is a wonderful pastel painting of
him hanging in the Historical Museum that William Collins has set up in
Sherman."
