Funeral services for William Edward Blanton, 74, were held
Saturday at 2
pm at the Milburn Baptist Church. Mr Blanton died Dec 21,
1989 at Johnston
Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Services were
officiated by
Darrell heath of the Milburn Baptist Church, Tom Caldwell delivered
the
eulogy and graveside services were performed by Darius Emerson.
Pall
bearers were Terry Ragan, Bobby Dodd, Donnie Rowland, James Rowland,
Marvin
Smithers and Wayne McCreary.
Interment at the Condon Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Blanton was born Aug 27 1915 in Fillmore to Ray
Blanton (sic Reynolds
Ray Blanton) and Cora Wagner Blanton. He married Geneva Traylor
on June 7,
1947 in Columbus Kansas. He was a veteran of the Army, a retired
grocery
store owner and a member of the Milburn Baptist Church. He is survived
by
his wife, Geneva of the home, a sister, Lorene Preston of Hollis,
four
nephews, John Preston of OkC, James Blanton of OkC, Michael Blanton
of
Kansas, E.R. Frye of Hereford and a niece, Virginia Newell of Hot
Springs,
Ark.

BLANTON, Elijah Taylor. WWI veteran. Born 02 May 1889 at Whitewright
Tx,
died 06 May 1963 at home in Tishomingo. Father: Elijah Sweezy Blanton,
mother: Margaret Godwin Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon
for
Elijah Taylor Blanton, 74,
who died at his home in Tishomingo May 6, 1963. A retired
painter and
carpenter, Mr. Blanton came to Oklahoma from Texas in 1919 and lived
at
Milburn, later coming to Tishomingo. He was an army veteran
of WWI, a
member of the American Legion and the Church of Christ.
Services were held in the Church of Christ and were
conducted by Mr. G.A.
Cornelius, minister. Burial was in Tishomingo cemetery. Surviving
are his
wife, Bertha, of the home, and three sisters, Mrs. Eula Green of
Duncan,
Mrs. Myrtle Carpenter and Mrs. Kate Seay, both of Beaumont Texas.

Geneva T. Blanton, 73 were held at 11 am Wednesday,
January 19,1994 at
the Milburn Baptist Church, officated by Rev Tom Caldwell and Rev
Roy
Miller. Interment followed at the Condon Grove Cemetery. The daughter
of the
late Claud and Mary Traylor, Mrs. Blanton was born October 8, 1920
in
Maysville.
She died Monday January 17, 1994 in Tishomingo. A teacher
at the Fillmore
School for 25 years, Blanton had resided in Johnston County 47 years.
She
married W.E. Blanton in Cloumbus, Ohio on June 7, 1946. The
couple owned
the Blanton
Grocery store in Milburn for many years. Blanton was a member of
the Milburn
Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Virginia
Traylor of
Jacksonville, Flordia, a step-mother, Austina Traylor of Gainesville,
Tx,
and three nephews,
Phillip, Douglas and Stewart Traylor. Pallbearers were Bobby Smith,
Boyd
Vestal, Ray Dodd, Dallas Boggs, James Rowland and Donnie Rowland.
