Services for Cecil W. Blanton, 63, a resident of Wichita Falls since 1932,
will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday from the Hampton-Vaughan Funeral Home chapel. // Officiating will be Rev. Mitchell Maddox, associate pastor of First
Baptist Church. Burial will be in Westhill Cemetery in Sherman, Tex. //
Blanton died in a Wichita Falls hospital about 3 p.m. Friday. // Born in
Bells, Tex, July 24, 1899, he came to Wichita Falls from Sherman, Blanton
was general office manager for the Cyrus W. Scott Manufacturing Co. in
Wichita Falls. He was a member of the Baptist church. // Survivors include his widow; a son B.C. Blanton of Whittier, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Eddie Hemphill of Austin, Tex; a half-brother, Benjamin Blanton; and four
grandchildren. (Transcriber's note: Cecil W. Blanton was the son of
William B. Blanton and the grandson of Benjamin F. "Frank" Blanton and Julia Ann Blanton Blanton. He married Sallie Lake Corder in Grayson County on 9-5-1919. Cecil and Sallie Lake Corder Blanton are buried in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, TX.)
