night. The dance will take place at McGowan's commodious hall, on Main
street, and Mr. James Leonard, the popular landlord of the Nelson House, has
promised to furnish the supper, which will be served at the hotel. The names
of the young men who have this affair in charge are a sufficient guarantee that the
party will be conducted with decorum, and be made a grand success, while no
one who is at all acquainted with Mr. Leonard, will have any fears regarding
the supper. We predict one of the most pleasant gatherings of the season. In-
vitations will be sent out Monday.

A Pamphlet Descriptive of North Texas
                 ---
A week ago the preliminary step was taken in the Board of Trade, to publish
to the world the advantages of this section of the country, and particularly, Deni-
son; and also to provide means by which this could be laid before the people who
are or may become interested in our city, and this portion of the State. A com-
mittee consisting of Messrs. Sam Cook,A. B. Bowman and Dr. Acheson, was ap-
pointed to take the matter in hand, and report to the Board. This committee
will wait upon the citizens and solicit subscriptions with which to push the
work forward.
Regarding the appropriateness of such a work, we have little to say. Every
live, active, thinking man in the city can see at a glance the benefit to be derived
from such action, and we hope $2,500 or $3,000 will be contributed. Recollect
that every cent so invested will come back, and bring a dollar with it.

         ---------+---------

       To whom it may concern.
                 ---
Farmers, stock men, and any body that uses harness or saddles, should be sure
and pay the large establishment of J. M. Sheeder & Co. a call before purchasing
elsewhere. They have a large and complete stock of everything in their line.
Their saddles are all made over Texas trees, of the best kind they can procure
for durability and ease for horse and rider. Their harness are all made in
their shop, and they use none but the very best northern tanned leather, and
employ the best of workmen.
They also have a complete stock of sole leather, calf skins, and shoe findings
of all kinds, and as they always buy in large quantities, they are enabled to sell
at a less price than any of their competitors. Give them a call; Man street, next
door to Star Store.
