Ross W. Layman

LAYMAN - 50TH - Whitewright - Mr. and Mrs. Ross W. Layman of Whitewright
will be honored between 2 and 4 p.m. Dec. 2 at the "Celtic Inn"
in
Whitewright with an open house in celebration of their 50th wedding
anniversary.
Hosts will be their son and daughter-in-law, Janiece
and Michael
Lankford, all of Whitewright and their six grandchildren and their
spouses,
April, Amy and Austin Layman, all of Whitewright, Jennifer and John
Sinor
and Jason and Priscilla Lankford, all of Sherman and Michelle and
Marcus
Glover of Honey Grove.
The couple married Dec. 22, 1951 in Denison with the
bride's grandfather,
the Rev. W.B. Higgins, officiating. Attendants were James
and Joyce Howell.
Betty Layman is the former Betty Meek of Gordonville,
daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Meek. She attended Bells Schools, was employed
by Carl's Sausage and is now a homemaker.
Ross Layman was born in Ely Community, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Charlie
Layman. He attended Whitewright schools, was employed by Carl's
Sausage and is retired.
The couple are members of the First Baptist Church
of Whitewright, enjoy
spending time with their grandchildren, traveling and camping with
friends.
(research note: Ross Layman's parents Mable Bertha Blanton
and Charlie
Layman were married 9-3-1911. His maternal grandparents were
Thomas
Jefferson Blanton and Eliza Jane Smith.
