William Aaron Goldston was born September 18, 1829 in Wilson County Tennessee. He was raised in Tennessee where most of his Goldston relatives lived, but at the age of thirteen he went to Missouri with his parents and brothers and sisters and lived in Polk County for a short time, then moving on to Green County Missouri. At the age of twenty one, he married his second cousin, Angeline Narcis Williams on August 20, 1850. She was born October 20, 1832 in Green County Missouri, daughter of Gibson Allen Williams and Anna Rule.

In 1859, William Aaron Goldston, and the four children he had by this time, made the move to the small town of Pottsboro, Grayson County Texas. They lived here for but a short time before moving a little west to to a small town called, Sandusky, also in Grayson County, Texas. He is said to have hauled lumber all the way from east Texas by wagon to build a house, and a cotton Gin. The house still stands in the year 2003, however the roof has caved in, and the cotton Gin is no longer there. William Aaron Goldston and his wife were the parents of thirteen children, however only ten are known of.

View Photographs of the Home The original location of Sandusky could  have been right next to where William Aaron Goldston’s home place is to the present location of the small community. I looked on the 1906 plat book and found that there was a school owned by the Green’s, which two of his daughter married. The School was owned by Mr. Henry Calloway Green, husband to William Aaron Goldston’s daughter. However this does not mean that he was a school teacher, he could have just owned the land, which was across the road from the Goldston place, the school building was across the street from the old Goldston place.

William Aaron Goldston left 100 acres to each of his ten known children. Today most of the land is owned by oil companies. The home place is West of the small community. If you follow Sandusky road into Jewell Lane, take a left at Jewell lane and it is on your right up in a field.

Angeline Goldston was a member of the Methodist Church. She died at Sandusky on March 14, 1905. William Aaron Goldston died on December 8, 1905. Both are buried in the Dixie Cemetery, where many, many of their relatives and descendents are at rest.
