This cemetery is one of the oldest in Grayson county, It lies just north of highway 697 about 2 miles north of old Kentuckytown.  Originally the
Pitman's Chapel ,a Methodist  Church and the Batsell School stood nearby. This property lies at the junction of Spring Branch and Camp Branch ofMill Creek. The Creek is where a church camp was held often and baptisms held.
It was named for Michael Pitman who gave the land for the church and cemetery. Later it was called Batsell Methodist Church . Today it is being approached by a tract of new houses and needs protection.
