Holloway, of Collinville (sic: Collinsville), Grayson County, died
here yesterday at the Murphy Hospital of consumption. He was in destitue
circumstances and was taken in and attened to gratuitously by Mrs. Murphy.
He would give no account of himself further than his name, age 24, and
where he was from. He was buried to-day.

Attorney, Former Judge, Dies at 87
J.W.
Hassell, 87, of 3700 University, a practicing Dallas attorney and
formerly county Judge of Grayson County and mayor of Sherman, died Saturday
at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday in the Restland Memoral Chapel.
Burial in Restland Memorial Park.
Mr. Hassell was born near Denison in 1875. he began his law practice in
1898 at Sherman, where he later served as county judge and mayor. |

In 1916 he moved to Denison, leaving in 1921 to become chief supervisor
of the oil and gas division of the Texas Railroad Commission. Two years
later he came to Dallas, where he practiced law until his death.
In 1937, he declined appointment as an associate justice of the Fifth Court
of Civil Appeals.
He was a 50 year member of the Travis Masonic Lodge of Sherman and a member
of teh Dallas, Texas and American Bar Associations.
He and his son practiced law in the firm of Hassell & Hassell in Dallas.
Survivors: Wife, three daughters, Mrs. Walter Amis Jr, Mrs. Charles B.
Shuey and Mrs. Drake McKee, and a son, J.W. Hassell, all of Dallas. 11
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
