Notes on the John Calvin Boston Family of Whitesboro, Grayson Co.,
Texas. I feel they are kin to the Frederick
Boston family who is also in the area. I suspect Frederick b. 1814
is a brother to John Calvin Boston's father John b. 1816. Please
contact me if you have further information. Any further information
, photographs etc appreciated. There is also another family I am trying
to tie in, the George
F. Boston Family.
John Boston b. 1816 NC - wed 1839 Sarah
Louanna Repult, went to Lee Co., Miss. and are buried in the Unity
Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lee Co., Miss.
Their son John Calvin Boston b. 20
Feb 1851 Itawamba Co., Miss. - died 24 Sep 1927 in Whitesboro, Grayson,
Texas.
He wed Rebecca Ann Leeper 29 Nov 1876
Lee Co., Miss. She ws b. in Miss 10 Oct 1856 and died in Hale Center, Hale
Co., Texas 30 Dec 1928. She was the dau. of W. & Susan Jamison Leeper.

Miss - 24 May 1954 buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro, Tx.

Tx. Funeral Services were held Wednesday in the Richards-Beck Chapel for
Mrs. Ethel Colwell, 76, who died Monday in Texarkana, Burial was in the
Whitesboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Colwell was a native of Mississippi. She was a daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Boston and wife of the late J. M. Colwell.
She is survived by one son , Carl Colwell of Texarkana; four brothers,
Frank Boston and Sam Boston of Whitexboro; Je Boston of Dallas and Will
Boston of Canyon; two sisters, Mrs. Wiley Henderson of Dallas and Mrs.
Leslie Porter of San Francisco, Calif. ; eight grandchildren and a number
of great-grandchildren.

William George Boston 16 Dec 1879
Miss - 9 Jun 1962 died in Canyon, Randall Co., Tx. He wed Grace Kelso Gordon
who was b. in Tenn. 31 Jul 1883-died 21 Feb 1958, dau of Monroe & Mary
Hale Gordon.William & Grace are both buried in the Dixie Cemetery.

Sarah Zaydee Boston 23 Jan
1882 Tupelo, Miss. - 30 Aug 1936 She married John J. Barfield in 1912 and
she is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Her obituary reads : Dallas Man's Sister Buried
at Whitesboro. Sherman, Texas Sep 1, Mrs. Sarah Zaydee Barfield , 53, died
Monday at her residence in Whitesboro following a stroke of paralysis.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Whitesboro Presbyterian
Church. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Barfield was born in Mississippi.
Survivors are three children; Miss Rebecca Barfield, Mrs. Ethel
Lou Barfield and Stephen Barfield all of Whitesboro, six brothers, Will,
Sam, Frank, and Percy Boston of Whitesboro, Ralph Boston of Kansas City
and Joe Boston of Dallas, and three sisters, Mrs. Jim Culwell of Whitesboro,
Mrs Wiley Henderson of Durant and Mrs. Lucile Porter of Plainview.

John Franklin Boston b. 5 Feb 1887 Miss
- 17 May 1962, he married Evelyn V. ? who was b. in Tx 17 Jan 1889- died
12 Apr 1984, both are buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. I
know of two of thier children from the 1920 census, Clifford b. 1910 and
Hazel b. 1915.

Samuel Preston Boston b. 17 Mar 1889 Miss.-
14 Oct 1983 buried in the Oakwood Cemetery with his wife Mattie in Whitesboro,
Tx. He married Mattie P. Reagan who was born in Ark. 22 Mar 1892 - 9 Mar
1941. Their children were Loyd Raymond Boston( b. 30 Apr 1915- died 29
Jul 1974. He worked for a tractor co. in Whitesboro and died of cancer
of the spine. He is buried in Oakwood also.) ; Lillian E. Boston b. 1918
; Ralph L. (b. 26 Mar 1923 died -3 Mar 1981 , he was in the Army in WWII
and buried in Oakwood Cemetery. Ralph married Freda? 23 Mar 1944, she was
b. 17 Sep 1924 and no death date on stone). Sam Preston Boston married
second 7 Feb 1946 to Oda Mae Devault b. 9 Aug 1895 - 16 Feb 1983, dau.
of William Frank Davault and Mary Ann Mathews. She was wed to a William
Simpson Pyles first.

Boston Jr. , 78, of 4127 Courtshire, retured vice-president of the
Texas Wholesale Grocery Co., will be held at 4 pm Monday in the Sparkman
Hillcrest Funeral Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Highway. Entombment will be
in the Hillcrest Garden Mausoleum.
Boston, a Whitesboro, Grayson County, native, died here Saturday.
A Dallas resident since 1913, he was a member of the Highland Park
Presbyterian Church, Hella Temple Shrine and was a 32 degree Mason. Boston
retired from the Texas Wholesale Grocery Co., in 1961 when it was a subsidiary
of the old Wyatt Food Store chain.
Survivors; two daughters, Mrs. Charles D. Kirkham Jr. of Dallas
and Mrs. William C. Revercomb Jr. of Charleston, W. Va.; A sister, Mrs.
Wylie Henderson of Lake Dallas, and six grandchildren.

Jack Percy Boston b. 25 Sep 1900
Miss - 12 Dec 1953 in Dallas, buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro, Tx.
His obituary reads: Jack P. Boston Dies at
Age 53. Jack Percy Boston , 53, a deputy county clerk for the last twenty-seven
years, died Saturday in a Dallas hospital. A Dallas resident for thirty-five
years, he lived at 9936 Dresden Drive.
Boston was born in Whitesboro. He was a member here (Dallas) of
the City Temple Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters; Mrs. Pat Kennedy of El
Paso, Mrs. Howard Moffatt and Miss Jean Boston, both of Lafayette, Calif;
four brothers, J. C. Boston Jr. of Dallas, Frank Boston and Sam Boston
of Whitesboro, and W. G. Boston of Canyon; three sisters; Mrs. J. M. Culwell
of Denton, Mrs. W.L. Porter of Merced Calif. and Mrs. J. W. Henderson of
Dallas; three granddaughters and a grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Sparkman Brand
Funeral Chapel, 2115 Ross, Dr. Floyd Poe officiating. Burial will be in
the Whitesboro Cemetery.
