FRANK YOUNGWeimar Mercury,, 5 Jul 1935, page 2 FRANK YOUNG DIED THURSDAY.Frank Young died Thursday in his home at 216 Edgewood avenue. He was 59. He is survived by his widow: five sons, Charles F. Young of Silsbee, Texas, Paul L., Louis and Frank Young of Houston and George Young of Schulenburg, and two daughters, Miss Mary Young of Vancouver, B. C., and Dorothy Young of Houston. The body was taken overland to Schulenburg Thursday by the Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, with burial in the cemetery there. — Houston Press. SUSAN GREEN YOUNGWeimar Mercury, April 21, 1939 Mrs. Susan Young, 97, Who Came To Texas By Wagon Train, DiesMrs. Susan Green Young 97, who came to Texas by wagon train from Missouri 90 years ago, died at her home at West Point Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and interment was made in the Woods cemetery at West Point. Rev. S. M. Bailey of La Grange officiating. Mrs. Young, nee Green, was born at St. Louis on June 5, 1842. Coming to Texas in 1849, she settled with her parents and family at what is now High Hill. On Oct. 13, 1859, she was united in marriage with Alfred Young and moved to a farm at West Point, where she lived continuoulsly for the past 80 years. Her husband passed away in 1898. Surviving are a son, Frank, and two daughters, Misses Ella and Mattie, who lived with their mother; another daughter, Mrs. Susanne Haynie of West Point; and six grandchildren. – La Grange Record
